Excessive radiation
November/December 2023Doe underwent radiation treatment for breast cancer. Approximately two years later, she began experiencing swelling. Her symptoms progressed, and she developed numbness, pain, urinary and bowel dysfunction, and lost function in one of her limbs. She was later diagnosed as having radiation-induced lumbosacral plexopathy. She continues to suffer pain, emotional distress, and difficulty walking without assistance.
Doe claimed that undisclosed defendants delivered excessive and dangerously high doses of radiation. The defense argued that the claim was untimely.
The parties settled for $200,000 before suit was filed.
