Settlement for resident’s wrongful death
October 21, 2025Teresa Patterson, 57, was admitted to Garden Spring Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. During approximately the next five months, she allegedly suffered skin breakdown, pressure ulcers, weight loss, dehydration, sepsis, and other problems that led to her death.
Her adult son, on behalf of her estate, sued Vita Healthcare Group Limited Liability Co., alleging negligence, corporate liability, vicarious liability, survival, and wrongful death. The plaintiff also alleged breach of fiduciary duty and aiding and abetting breach of fiduciary duty.
The parties settled for $200,000.
