Failure to yield right-of-way

Esther Stein, 67, was traveling through a suburban intersection when Marisa Ramon turned left in front of her. Their vehicles collided head-on, causing Stein to suffer an injury necessitating a hip replacement. She also suffered a shoulder injury. Her medical expenses exceeded $87,800.

Stein sued Ramon, alleging failure to yield the right-of-way.

The plaintiff settled with Ramon’s insurer for $350,000. The plaintiff also received $100,000 in UIM coverage.
