Breach of contract

August 22, 2024

Steven Furwa entered into a contract with Porsche dealership Rusnak/Westlake to lease a new Porsche 911 GT3 RS with a high-performance option. Furwa tendered a check for approximately $53,000, which included the down payment and first monthly payment of approximately $5,100. Two days after accepting delivery of the vehicle, Furwa abandoned it at the dealership and stopped payment on the check. He also failed to make any subsequent monthly payments under the lease agreement.

Rusnak/Westlake sued Furwa, alleging breach of contract.

The court awarded over $200,800.

Citation: Rusnak/Westlake v. Furwa, No. 19STCV05914 (Cal. Super. Ct. Los Angeles Cnty. Feb. 13, 2024).

Plaintiff counsel: John P. Swenson and Christian Scali, both of Los Angeles.
