Driving while intoxicated

Roe, who had lost his license, allegedly went to a local bar and consumed multiple cocktails. A bartender offered to drive him home, but Roe allegedly said he was using a rideshare. Shortly after, Roe allegedly drove his vehicle at a high rate of speed, crossed the center line, and collided head-on with the Does. Jane Doe suffered a fractured spine, connective tissue injuries, laceration of her abdominal wall musculature, and hydropneumothorax. John Doe suffered a fractured calcaneus and fibula, as well as pneumothorax.

The Does sued Roe, alleging negligence.

The parties settled for approximately $1.32 million.
