Driving under the influence

Jenny Young Ha was a front seat passenger in a vehicle being driven by Jonathan Gray Maness. Maness lost control while driving and collided with an oncoming vehicle. Young Ha suffered pulmonary contusions, hemorrhages, and cervical spinal injuries and required life-saving treatment. Her medical expenses totaled over $144,900.

Young Ha sued Maness, alleging he had been driving under the influence of controlled substances.

The jury awarded approximately $644,900.
