Negligent operation of golf cart

June 18, 2020

Sandra Balch, 50, was riding in a golf cart operated by her friend, Johan Kendall. As the two were proceeding down the main path of a campground, Kendall made a sharp left turn, causing Balch to be thrown from the cart. She suffered a fractured left heel and a fractured right wrist, necessitating surgeries.

Balch, a registered nurse, missed over four months of work and incurred approximately $143,000 in medical expenses. She now suffers from neuropathy in her left foot.

Balch sued Kendall, alleging negligent operation of the golf cart.

The parties settled before trial for $350,000.
